For this activity, let me take you on a  detour  to Park Benches  to ponder some answers to the questions asked in STEP 4.

Follow the links below; ponder the information provided for each question.

Write down your thoughts about what you read about each question.

What do you agree with? What do you disagree with? What makes sense? What is confusing? Where do my comments take you?  Other thoughts.

  1. How do I define...
    a. Spirit?
    b. Ego?
    c. Divine/Unconditional Love?
    d. Fear?
    e. Forgiveness?
  2. Who am I really?
  3. What do I value? and How much do I value it?
  4. How do I find peace?

STEP 6  is to live the love you are. Go there when you are ready to concentrate on that content.

Hearing the Voice

I believe there is a “voice” in each of us that speaks only spiritual truth, and I believe each of us can hear that voice if we sincerely desire its wisdom.

The steps to hearing the voice that always leads us to peace and joy above all the noisy static of the world in which we seem to find ourselves are:

(Vital Terms Defined)

  1. Sincerely, deeply desire to hear the voice of loving wisdom

  2. Be still – eliminate as much external noise and distraction as possible

  3. Ask genuinely:  How can I see this situation differently – how can I see it through the eyes of loving wisdom? What is the most loving response I can have to the situation that is causing my distress? What would you have me do, or not do, or say, or not say?

  4. Listen intently. The voice may sound like your own in tone, but it will say things that are not like your normal thoughts. It will say things your ego does not want to hear.

  5. Know the truth. You will experience complete peace when you have heard, and have accepted, the loving wisdom of the voice. That voice is in you! That voice is in you! That voice is in you! That voice is in you. That voice is in you! That voice is you!

The voice within...

Open Your Own Treasure House: A Zen Parable

Daiju visited the master Baso in China. Base asked, “What do you seek?”

“Enlightenment,” replied Daiju.

“You have your own treasure house. Why do you search outside?” Baso asked.

Daiju inquired, “Where is my treasure house?”

Base answer,  “What you are asking is your treasure house”

Daiju was enlightened! Ever after he urged his friends, “Open your own treasure house and use those treasures.”
